Since its first opening in 1896, the Salmo Hotel has stood at the heart of a hardworking resource town. In its early years, the hotel welcomed loggers and miners who came down from the hills to rest, share stories, and raise a glass after long days in the bush and underground. After a fire in 1931, the building was rebuilt, and half a century later, its façade was refreshed in 1981, marking each new era in the community’s life.

The Historic Salmo Hotel

Known for decades as a favourite hangout for the region’s logging and mining crews, the bar became as much a gathering hall as a watering hole. Today, under the ownership of local mining executive John Mirko, the Salmo Hotel continues to honor its history while offering modern comforts, cold drinks, and a warm welcome to all who walk through its doors.
